Ross Levinsohn

Ross Levinsohn is the former President of News Corporation's Fox Interactive Media. He was tapped by Chairman Rupert Murdoch and COO Peter Chernin to devise a strategy for News Corporation in early 2005. Levinsohn was responsible for architecting the founding strategy, managing its growing stable of Internet assets and pursuing strategic investments to further expand News Corp.'s online presence. Levinsohn led FIM's acquisitions of MySpace.com, IGN.com, Newroo, KSolo, and Scout.com and investments in other online properties.

Levinsohn managed all day-to-day operations for the company. Under his leadership, the FIM Network of sites became one of the largest on the Internet with record setting growth. Reaching more than 130 million people worldwide, FIM's Network of sites including FoxSports.com, Fox.com, RottenTomatoes.com, Askmen.com and Fox's Television Station sites also garners the most page views on the web domestically. During his tenure, social networking giant Myspace.com grew from 17 million unique users monthly to more than 60 million, and generated more than 30 billion page views each month.

Prior to this post, Levinsohn was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Fox Sports Interactive Media. In this role, he oversaw the online, wireless and broadband presence for Fox Sports, Fox Sports Net and Fox Sports World and Fuel as well as supervised interaction between all broadcast and cable networks within the Fox Sports Group. Under his leadership, FoxSports.com grew from less than 800,000 unique users a month to averaging more than 14 million users per month (comScore Media Metrix).

Prior to joining Fox, Levinsohn served as Vice President and Executive Producer of the AltaVista Network. In this role, he was responsible for the overall development and implementation of the AltaVista Network, which includes all search, directory and content areas within the site. He joined the company in April 1999 as Vice President and General Manager, New Media, where he oversaw the development and launch of AltaVista LIVE!, the personalized portal content offering from AltaVista, which launched in October 1999.

Previously, Levinsohn served as Vice President, Programming and Executive Producer of CBS Sportsline, where he oversaw all content and development for the top rated sports site. As one of the first employees at the internet start up in 1996, Levinsohn helped craft the overall online strategy for the company, and managed the day to day programming and content execution for the web site and its related production relationships with AOL, PGATour.com, MichaelJordan.com, and SanFrancisco49ers.com. He also created and served as Executive Producer for the syndicated weekly television program "Football Playbook" starring former NFL coaches Marv Levy and Sam Wyche and syndicated radio program "The Drive".

Prior to joining CBS Sportsline, Levinsohn was Director of Production and Marketing Enterprises for HBO. In that role, he developed programming opportunities across cable, home video and CD-ROM, and licensing, merchandising and new media opportunities for the world's largest Pay-TV network.

Levinsohn spent three years at ProServ, Inc., a leading sports marketing and management company, where he represented a variety of athletes and developed marketing and sponsorship programs. He began his career at Saatchi and Saatchi in New York, and worked at the sports public relations firm Lapin and Rose, where he oversaw marketing and publicity for a variety of sports clients including Top Rank Boxing, Showtime and the MLB Old Timers Baseball Series.

Levinsohn currently serves on the board of internet music leader Napster.com.
