(www.g-technology.com, G-Tech), a manufacturer of premium storage solutions for the Apple® Mac® community that was acquired today by Fabrik Inc. (www.fabrik.com), announces a new addition to its G-DRIVE mini external storage family. With a FireWire® 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 interface, the new G-DRIVE mini Triple 500 is the first portable drive in the industry at 500GB giving AV professionals and multimedia enthusiasts fast, high-capacity portable storage. Compact and light weight – around 10 oz – the G-DRIVE mini easliy slips into a computer, camara or camcorder bag, holding more than 45 hours of high defenition video, 200,000 5 Mpixel JPEG photos, or 125,000 MP3 files. Because the device is bus-powered, no bulky AC adaptor is required.

All G-Tech solutions are designed specifically for the Mac environment, offering performance, durability, capacity and compatibility. The new G-Drive mini Triple 500 is formatted HFS+ and is Time Machine™ ready, making it easy to protect critical personal or professional content. When using Mac OS X, journaling is available, which continuously records changes to files on the drive in a “journal” so if your computer stops due to a power failure or some other issue, the journal restores the external drive to a known-good state when the computer restarts. Ensuring data integrity and reliability, G-Tech keeps things cool inside the G-DRIVE mini using an unique silent fanless cooling system that dissipates heat from the internal drive. Its all aluminum enclosure, which complements MacBook® Pro and other laptop computers designs, also acts as a heatsink, absorbing heat from the air inside the device.

Available in March 2008, each G-Tech G-DRIVE mini comes complete with cables and a protective leather carrying case. Suggested retail pricing has not been set.
